Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest 2008

Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach, Oregon

This weekend was our annual trip to the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest. It is always so fun to see the different sculptures people can build using plain ol' sand! There are levels that range from children to pro's. The weather was cold and windy, but at least it was dry and there was even some blue sky. My parents joined us for the weekend, which is a special treat to spend so much time with them. We walked the beach and walked around town....I never seem to get tired of this:). We ate lunch out on Saturday and had a picnic lunch Sunday afternoon at a little park before heading home. I wish I was always on beach time...no worries!

Peyton's FIRST trip on the beach! Last time she did not go out of the house because it was snowing! She loved the backpack!

Just two of the sand sculptures... so sad they are washed away as soon as the tide comes in.

Yes... I look like a goober... but at least I was warm. :)

Sisterly Love

I hope it will always be like this! ;)

Maddie the BIG sister

Maddie really enjoys helping with Peyton. She even changed a diaper herself the other day (she volunteered to). Every time we feed Peyton she wants to help. This time she fed Peyton all by herself. She did a pretty good job! Just needs to give a little smaller bites sometimes! Peyton was overflowing! :)

Name That Tune

Peyton has taken a liking to the piano croc. She will beat on it with the mallet and with her hands. We play name that tune....I don't think I've guessed one yet. :)She has the look, No Mom... that's not it! Do I have to play again? :)

Sing it Kenny! :)

My sister Caitie and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert last night! I was given free tickets from a coworker who was unable to go. It was outside at the Clark County Amphitheatre. It had been pouring all day and in the early evening it stopped! THANK GOODNESS! It stayed dry throughout the entire show. We had a lot of fun!

Thank you MOM for staying with the girls!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!

Another Birthday Party!

Today we had a very pink princess themed birthday party for Maddie. The last and final party! Whew! We had not celebrated Maddie turning 4 with family yet...due to the limited amount of space at the fire station. Madison chose a princess theme since this is her true love at this moment in time. It was fun to decorate for a princess party! I was able to pull toys and items from around the house that fit the theme perfectly. It was all adults in attendance (except for Maddie and Peyton) so I did not plan games or make goodie bags. I did have all wear crowns and we drank from champagne glasses. It was fun to have everyone together... and Maddie was happy to be the princess of her party!

That's My Girl!

Madison was drinking some water in her sippy cup when she hands it to me and says, "Mom, here hold this." She then walks over to the wall where our family pictures are hanging and straightens one of the frames that was a tad bit crooked. She then says, "there that's better." What 4 year old do you know that would be bothered by a slightly tilted frame?
That's my girl! Like Mother like Daughter! :)
