Just A Little Nap

Peyton has a new little hiding spot where she likes to hang out. She will sit behind the chair in our living room and play with toys, look at books, and even eat a snack every once in awhile. I think she likes the warmth of the heater vent. Anyway, one afternoon she was playing with her pillow pet behind the chair and Bryan noticed it got really quiet. When he checked on her, here is what he found. She was all curled up with her pillow and blankie taking a little nap.
She does look quite cozy.

Annie!

For Christmas I bought Madison tickets to the play of Annie! It was so fun to see this play with her. I saw it when I was little and I have always loved the movie. Our house has been full of Annie songs and lots of dancing since we went to see it on stage! It was GREAT! I love that Madison loves musicals as much as I do.

I can't wait to see if Peyton will be wanting to join us some day! With how she loves music, I'll bet she will want to go on our little outings too. She just needs a little longer attention span.

This Is The House The MacKenders Built!

Over the Holidays the girls were able to make a sweet little gingerbread house with their Grandma and Grandpa MacKender. It has been the centerpiece of our table ever since. I thought I had better catch it in pictures because the candy has been starting to disappear one by one....hummmm...wonder where it has been going?!Madison made the main house part.
Peyton is proud of the tree that she made!

A "New" Chair

Madison has really been enjoying writing and arts and crafts. I thought it would be fun for her to have a desk in her room where she could have her own space to be creative. I have a desk that I used in my room growing up and it matches her room and decor perfectly. The one little thing we were needing to make her desk complete was chair. So, we went on a hunt one day at different thrift stores and antique stores for the perfect chair. We found a fixer upper for $7.50! Just needed a little elbow grease. So here are the before and after pictures of our little project. I love how it turned out and it only cost us about $11.00 total in the end! PERFECT! :) Madison helped by putting on the first coat of paint.
Here is the back of the "before" chair.

Here is the front of the "before" chair. I love the lines of this chair! Not too cute...yet!

Here is the fabric for the main seat... Madison picked it out. :)
The finished project!
It is just perfect for the desk and for Madison!

Christmas Evening!

Christmas Evening was spent with the MacKender side of the family. We had a WONDERFUL prime rib dinner and enjoyed the company of all of the family. It was nice to have everyone together. Thanks so much for the recorders UNCLE ERIC....I think you forgot the 2nd half of the gift.... ear plugs!! The girls LOVE all of the noise these little instruments make! Next goal...to teach them some sort of song. :)
