Snow Much Fun!!

We had a great day up at Mt. Hood today! The sun was shining and the sky was blue! The mountain was beautiful! We went with our neighbors (and great friends...we are so lucky) up to Ski Bowl for some tubing. The snow was just not that great at the bottom of the Mt. The kids did have a great time sliding down the hill on the tubes and then being pulled back up by the tow rope. The only problem was it was dirty snow, and at the bottom of the tube hill it was pretty much grass/mud. So... after a couple of hours we went further up the mountain to Timberline and found some beautiful white and bright snow to play in. It was so warm we just had long sleeve shirts on under the snow bibs. No jackets needed. What a beautiful and fun day!

Hiking at Silver Falls

Last weekend we went to Silver Falls. It is about an hour from our house and was a beautiful drive. I have never been before, but have heard great things about it. It was nice to get out and enjoy the sunny day...even though it was pretty cold in the shade of the the trees. We took the short hike that went behind the big falls. It was beautiful to walk behind the falls and be so close to the water. The pictures from behind the falls did not turn out they were too dark, but here are some of the pictures of our day that did turn out. Enjoy!A family picture from the top of the falls. The view from the front of the waterfall. We walked behind it! We saw that there are campgrounds near Silver Falls and we thought it would be fun to go back during the summer. There are 10 different waterfalls within the park. Some of the hikes are 13 miles long so we would like to go when it is warm out and we have more time.
Definitely worth the drive.

Fairy Princess to Scary Princess!

Maddie came downstairs all dressed up in her Cinderella costume with fairy wings added for extra enchantment. She was acting all sweet and "floating" and dancing around. Then she turned around and was a scary princess! Amazing how quickly we can go from sweet to sour! :)

Bouncy Balls!

For Christmas Maddie received a "make your own bouncy ball" kit from her Auntie Errin and cousins. Bry finally got around to making them with her. The bouncy balls, I hear, were pretty easy to make turned out GREAT! They really do bounce! Pretty fun!

Valentines Day Cupcakes

My parents stayed with the girls on Friday while Bry and I were at work. They baked Valentine cupcakes, as a surprise, for Bry and I! My mom said they were big helpers and there would have been about 4 more cupcakes, if they hadn't of gotten so into their work and covered their clothing with cupcake batter. You will notice that they have clothes on in some of the pictures and Pajamas in others. :) It was such a sweet little surprise and the girls were grinning from ear to ear because they were so proud of their accomplishments! Yummy!

Chocolate Fest 2010

Chocolate Fest comes around every February at the World Forestry Center. It is a celebration of Chocolate! Who wouldn't love that? Especially our family who are chocoholics! We spent the afternoon sampling chocolate from dozens of vendors. We were able to see where chocolate comes from, and we even learned about the history of chocolate. Fun day for sure! Peyton learning about forests.Maddie made a rose out of chocolate modeling clay. She did a great job.

CHS....Go Cavs!

Maddie was able to attend another Jr. Cheer Camp put on by the Clackamas High School Cheerleaders. Cousin Jordyn was Maddie's buddy and Maddie had so much fun! This time the girls attended a one day camp and then cheered in the evening at a basketball game. Maddie was able to bring 2 of her neighbor friends and the girls learned a cheer, chants, and a little dance to the song "Girls Just Want To Have Fun". They performed during the half time of the basket ball game. SO CUTE!

Smarty Pants!

At dinner tonight there was a little conversation that went something like this:

Bry: "Maddie, you are such a smart little girl. Sometimes too smart for your own good."

Maddie: "It's because I eat chunks of butter."

Humm?! I guess that is the key to being smart! LOL!
