Mmmm...Frog!

Peyton was running around and around the couch. I looked at her a little closer to find a toy frog flopping around from out of her mouth. It actually looked pretty real!

Maddie Goes For It!

Ever since Madison was 3 years old I have been asking her if she would like to get her ears pierced. She would grab her ear lobes or cover her ears and run away from me yelling "no, no, no!"
This past month, all on her own, she has changed her mind. She has been asking me non stop if she could get her ears pierced. I told her step by step what would happen when she got her ears pierced and that they would put a hole in her ear. I just wanted to make sure she really wanted to go through with it. The answer was still "yes, please Mom, pleeeeease."
I really thought she would evacuate the mall from her screaming so loud or get one ear done and not let them pierce the other. She really surprised us! Bryan offered to take her today while I was at work. I thought OK...because there would be less people at the mall to hear her screaming and I really thought she would chicken out. BUT...here is a video of her very brave moment, getting her ears pierced! SHE DID GREAT!! I now wish I could have been there. Bryan did take a video which I am so thankful for. He said she left the store with the biggest, proudest, smile on her face. I am proud of my baby!
Ready for the big moment. She climbed up in the chair with a big grin.
They gave her a bear to hug.

Very proud! What a big girl!

Pump it up!

It was BEAUTIFUL weather last week! My mom brought the girls a pool. When I got home from work, I found a swimming pool in our kitchen. No water of course, but almost blown up ready to go. They worked very hard on pumping up this little piece of Summer. I know they are going to get hours of enjoyment from the pool. In fact, I put water in it when I got home this same day. The girls wanted to "feel" the water with their hands, then their feet, and then well... they were in the pool soaked clothes and all. The fun has begun. Now the weather is rainy and cold again. We look forward to the day when we can actually swim in swimsuits and be warm!

Kitty, Kitty!

Petyon loves our Kitty Ashley. She follows her all over the house, loves on her, and wants to be the one to let Ashley in and out of the house. Ashley is 16 years old and is the most patient cat that I know. She takes the love and abuse of a 2 year old like a champ!

The Never Ending Sickies

Wow...it has been too long! Now here are my excuses:

We have really had a terrible time with being sick around here, the entire last month! Hence the lack of blogs and posts that have been happening on here! It all started around Easter when Maddie woke up with Pink Eye. Then Peyton, a couple of days later ended up with an ear infection. She cried all night on Easter. Poor Baby! Then Maddie ended up with an ear infection too. And of course Peyton got pink eye next! SO....we went to the Dr. 3 times in one week.
They were both pretty miserable....and I was too with the sleepless nights.
It did not end there. Oh-no... Just when I thought Maddie was getting better she came down with a fever "thing". No other side effects just a 102-103 fever for about 3 days.
Then Peyton was coughing and just all congested. She was still not well from the sinus, pink eye, ear infection thing. I thought maybe she had allergies on top of all of this. But, her cough just got worse and we took her into the Dr....Again. Only to have x-rays done and find out she had Pneumonia. It took another 3 all nighters before the antibiotics kicked in. Then she finally started to get a little better.

I really thought I was going to get out of this sick free. But, I think all of the lack of sleep and being surrounded by sickies, at home and at school, finally caught up with me. I ended up with a terrible head cold and cough that hung on for weeks. I felt like I was never going to get better.

Finally things are looking up and we are feeling quite a bit better...KNOCK ON WOOD!

It has really been a long month. I will try and post more...as long as we can all stay well. :)

Tulip Festival 2010

I am so glad we made it to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival this year! With all of the sickness, we were grateful to be well enough for one day to get out and about. We went to the festival on a Monday late in the day. We did not want to attend on a weekend because it has gotten to be such a crowded event on the weekends. You end up with more people in the pictures then flowers.
Bry and I have gone to the Tulip Festival every year since our engagement pictures that we had taken just before our wedding, 11 years ago. We LOVE the festival and it is just amazing to see a sea of beautiful flowers that seem to go on forever. They are just beautiful!
The girls seem to enjoy the fields as well! It had been very rainy the weekend and week prior to us attending, so the fields were pretty muddy. We definitely needed our rain/mud boots. The girls enjoyed stomping and running through the mud...that is until Peyton fell. She is not a fan of having her hands and clothes dirty. She fell in a mud puddle and ended up with very muddy pants. She was pretty unhappy after this happened.
We really enjoyed our little outing and all of the beauty we were blessed to see! Smelling all of the flowers....every color. ;)

Easter 2010

Easter was pretty good. Bryan had to work and so the girls and I were on our own. We went to Church in the morning and had an Easter Egg hunt with all of the neighborhood friends later in the day. Then we joined Bryan at the fire station for Easter Dinner. It was fun to meet the other families and enjoy a meal all together. Here are some pictures of our Easter weekend.
