Every July we look forward to blueberry picking. This year was no exception. We always pick a lot so we can freeze them and eat them throughout the winter. The girls love them frozen and we use them in pancakes and muffins. This year our neighbors joined us. We went out in the evening because it is just too hot in 90 degree weather. The kids were excited to get picking and ran out into the patch. Maddie was out there maybe 5 minutes before she got tangled up in a dried sticker bush and cut her leg up pretty good.

Bryan then took her to the car (with Peyton crying too, just because Maddie was crying) and patched her leg up with lots of bandages.

That was pretty much the end of Bryan, Maddie, and Peyton helping to pick. Maddie was too scared to go back out in the patch so....I picked blueberries with the neighbors. I picked 6 pounds of berries. Not too bad for the short time we spent there. It was 2 gallon size bags full. It wasn't the trip of my dreams, but... it was fun to talk with our friends while I picked.

Aidan and Mia with 9 pounds of berries! Good pickers!

Here are my 6 pounds of berries. Fresh berries are the best! :)
