Halloween Fun 2010

The weekend of Halloween was a very busy one! We had 3 carnivals to attend on Friday and Saturday, 1 at Maddies school, one at my school, and one at church. Halloween was on Sunday and we had some family (My parents, Bry's parents, Ryan, Kristin and Konnor, and Caitie) and our friend Tracy over for dinner and trick or treating. It was packed full of fun! Here are just some pictures of the weekend in no particular order! Bryan's Favorite part of Halloween.... carving pumpkins. Peyton chose to have Dora on her pumpkin. Caitie asked Peyton what she should be for Halloween. Peyton said she should be a hot dog. So...here is the outcome. Super Dog Aunt Caitie! Bauman Farms Pumpkin Patch

One sunny Friday afternoon we went out to the Pumpkin Patch at Bauman Farms in Gervis. It was such a beautiful Fall day! 2 of our neighbor friends came out too. All of the kids had a great time with the MANY activities this farm has to offer. 4 out of the 6 kiddos that were in our group.

swing out so far! All of the kids spent a lot of time on these swings. They were pretty cool! The

Peyton's goal was to find a "baby" pumpkin. After holding up nearly every small pumpkin in the patch for her, she still said they were not "baby" enough. So, she found this cute little gourd.

I think she found the perfect "baby pumpkin"! :) I love the look on her muddy little face. She was so happy with her little pumpkin.

Maddie also had a pumpkin in mind. She wanted one that had green on it. She found a great one with green polka dots. It is pretty neat. I have not see one so "spotty". Usually they are green on one side or kind of green stripped. Maddie was happy with her pumpkin too!

Great Wolf Lodge

We surprised the girls with a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Washington. They were so excited when we pulled into the parking lot and Madison read the sign. They were clapping and smiling. Maddie just kept saying, "this is so awesome"!

I have been keeping this little adventure a secret since the end of Summer. I planed the overnight vacation when I saw that I could get a room for this weekend in October for half off the original price!! This is huge! Our neighbors/friends also booked a room and were able to join us in the fun! We had such a good time!
It is "Howl-O-Ween" at the Great Wolf Lodge. Which means there was special Halloween activities planned for the weekend. The kids were able to trick-or-treat in their costumes on a "haunted trail". We also joined in the dance party. There was a live DJ who played music. The kids (and parents...shhh) danced up a storm. The kids were so cute jumping, spinning, and twisting to all kinds of tunes. Madison and friend, Mia, really got into the groove!
If you have not heard of Great Wolf Lodge, they are really known for the VERY LARGE indoor water park. We were able to swim, splash, play, slide, and ride for 2 days of water park fun. All of the kiddos (except Peyton) were tall enough to ride on the large raft ride and tubes. Bry and I just took turns staying with Peyton. Peyton was perfectly happy in the huge "little" kid area with water squirting toys, a wading pool, and slides just her size. All of us hung out quite a bit at the wave pool riding on and bobbing with the waves.

It was the perfect over night get away.... and was just enough time away to feel like a mini vacation. :) The Moms take the big kids on a river raft tube ride. It was really fast!

Cheering With JoJo

Maddie went to another little cheer camp put on by Clackamas High School. Cousin Jordyn is a varsity cheerleader and so Madison was able to cheer with her at a football game. She loves her cousin Jordyn and really wants to be just like her. It was so cold out that evening, but Maddie hung in there like a little trooper and cheered her little heart out. She had so much fun!

Rock The Beach

This past weekend we went to Cannon Beach for their first annual walk/run called "Rock the Beach". It was a fund raiser for the children's community center. A big group of us signed up to do the Walk/Run and had a great time! You could choose from the 5K or 10K. The majority of us did the 10K and some did the 5 K. It was a tough walk/run, especially because I was not used to fast walking on the sand...and we could not find real hard sand to walk on. The beach was covered in little jelly fish too which we were slipping and sliding on. The 10K was 3 miles on the beach and 3 miles on the road. The 5k was all on the beach. It was PERFECT weather for the event...actually it was a little warm.

My neighbor, and friend, Teresa, and I took all of our girls down the night before and had fun girl time playing on the beach and getting ice cream in town. My sister Cait and friend Tracy joined us in the evening. Bry ended up having to work and came down on Sunday with our neighbor Kieron and son Aiden (Aiden actually did the 5K! What a little trooper!) My parents came down on Sunday too. My Mom so nicely stayed with the girls at the beach house while we participated in the event. They were able to watch us go by and cheer us on down on the beach. My Dad came down (with Mom) and he ran in the race too. What a fun weekend with friends and family! :)

Where Did They Go??

This past week has been a busy one for the Tooth Fairy at our house! Maddie lost one tooth last Sunday and then lost another one on Wednesday. These were big losses too! Both of them her front teeth.

Maddie had many questions for her Tooth Fairy and so she left a note for her (or him) with the first tooth. It reads: Maddie did get a reply from her Tooth Fairy and we found out that her Tooth Fairy's name is Twinkle Toes. She left Madison a note and let her know that she was happy to be her Tooth Fairy. Madison was so excited about her note that she took it to school and shared it with her entire 1st grade class. :)
