Painted Pottery!
For Christmas Maddie and Peyton received gift cards for a Ceramic Cafe from their Uncle Chris and Aunt Stacy. We met Chris and Stacy to paint pottery towards the end of our Winter Break, and we were able to see the finished products today! I wish I could have taken pictures when the girls were going through the creation process, but I forgot the camera. It was a lot of fun to let the kids pick out what they wanted to paint and to paint it with them. Chris even made a doggie treat Jar for their puppy Drexler. So, my brother Chris delivered the finished pieces today. I loved how they turned out and the process of making them is a fun memory too!
THANK YOU UNCLE CHRIS AND AUNT STACY!
WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AND LOVE OUR CREATIONS!
Love, Maddie and Peyton
Maddie and Uncle Chris
Peyton painted a tile using the colors light blue and green. Then we put her hand print on it with a darker shade of blue. The picture above is of her final product.
Maddie chose to paint a plate with a rainbow of colors. She wrote her name with a black puff paint. She can't wait to eat off of her plate!
Here are the girls with their beautiful creations!

Little Bakers
When I got home from work yesterday the girls had helped Bryan to make a cake. We all put the frosting and finishing touches on it. Then the girls wanted candles lit and wanted Bry and I to sing "Happy Birthday" to them. Because it is not their birthdays we sang "Happy New Year to You". We enjoyed the cake for dessert that evening. Yummy!

Yes...Just A Little Scary!
We had just finished up dinner when Peyton turned to me and made her "scary" face. Then Maddie, Bry, and I had to joined in. We can be really weird sometimes! Hope we don't scare you!

Happy New Year!!
We had our friends (they are also our neighbors) over for New Year's Eve. The kids enjoyed playing together and the adults enjoyed playing Hearts and Rummy Cube. I was really surprised how quickly the 12:00AM hour came and the kids (and adults) were still going strong at the stroke of midnight. We had fun ringing in the New Year with wonderful friends.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!
Last family pictures in 2009! Ready to ring in the New Year in 4 minutes!
Noise makers in hand...almost midnight!
"Cheers" to good friends!
Water Colors
Santa brought the girls new watercolors in their stockings. One morning we broke them open and the girls created little masterpieces. I do not mind the mess of project like this. Watercolors come out of clothes and wash off of hands, faces, and tables really very easy. It gives them time to just focus on something quiet and use their creative side.

SNOW!!
We were so surprised to see it snowing outside! The news usually causes a bunch of hype and makes snow out to be a HUGE deal here in Oregon. So, the news had not said anything in days or even hours prior to the snow coming. Which caused a little bit of a traffic problem for all of the unsuspecting people who were at work or out and about. I know it took our poor neighbor 5 hours to get home from work which usually takes her only 20 min. I guess the roads were a mess, people were stuck, and sliding everywhere.
We were some of the lucky ones who got to enjoy the beautiful snow. We were warm and inside our house when it started snowing at around 2:00. At that time the girls were taking a nap and it was a fun surprise when they woke up and the snow had arrived. Of course we dug out the hats and mittens and warm coats and they headed outside to play in the snow that had quickly covered everything. The neighbor kids all came out and they made snow jumps and the dads pulled them over on their sleds. The snow came and left rather quickly which is OK with me. Last year we were stuck at home for about 2 weeks. That was a little too long! I really hope it returns soon though for another short visit...as long as I am at home safe and warm to watch it from comfort of my own home.
