Happy Snow Day!

We are excited to see the first snow of the year (considering we do not always get snow)! It started lightly around 7:30 this morning and by 9:00 there was enough to play in! So we bundled up and headed outside for some fun in the winter wonderland. We have about 3-4 inches and it continues to fall. Peyton was not too sure of it all. She went from smiles to serious tears and crying after about 5 min. of being outside. So, I had to take her inside while Bryan and Maddie stayed out and played. They built a great little snowman (which for some reason will not download onto the computer. I will work on these pictures more later so you can see). It has been a fun morning and it is nice to be stuck for the day! No stress to go anywhere. Here are some pictures the computer would take (silly thing!)

Zoo Lights 2008

Yes...we went to the Zoo AGAIN! But this time we went for Zoo Lights. Every evening after Thanksgiving and through December the Zoo lights up with so many lights it is amazing and beautiful. We love to go and the kids love it too.

This year Peyton especially enjoyed it! She is so into lights and music. She was pointing and touching and dancing her way through the zoo with her little squeals of laughter and the words "ooh pretty".

Maddie was the tour guide and was happy to introduce her Grandma, Papa and Uncle Jon to the zoo lights.

This year we decided to go on a weekday, Wednesday. It was the best! There was great parking and not a huge crowd. We went on a perfect evening that was not too cold so it was enjoyable. We even got on the train after about a 5 min. wait! Perfect! (Considering we had a 90 min. wait one year and didn't even attempt it last year... it was 2 hour plus wait.) We will definitely go on a weeknight again! I did not get too many pictures of the actual lights themselves due to battery failure. But, I was still able to capture some great memories!

Another Turkey Day!

Sunday evening we went to Bryan's parents for another Thanksgiving gathering. They were in Texas this year on Thanksgiving so we had the celebration a little later. We would never turn down 2 Thanksgiving dinners! So, all of the family was there and we had a yummy meal and played with the kiddos. It was so good, Jan is an excellent cook!We brought the pumpkin pie and cool whip. When it came time for dessert Maddie wanted to surprise us all with candles on our pie. So her and Grandma had everyone stay in the living room while they set up a little Thanksgiving surprise. When Maddie called us in she sang "Happy Thanksgiving To You" in the tune of Happy Birthday and there was a candle on each piece of pie. She came up with this little idea herself to surprise us all. It was pretty cute! I have so much to be Thankful for!

Just Checking My Messages

When Maddie was little she received this toy cell phone for a gift. It was an instant hit. Now Peyton loves it too. It looks as if she took a break from chasing her ball, just to check her messages or send a text. She looks so serious.

Containing a Toddler

One morning this weekend Bryan was outside hanging up Christmas lights, Maddie was "helping" him, and I was trying to get my hair dried and get ready for the day. Peyton had woke up from her nap and was on the go and needing constant attention. This is what I did with her: I have never thought of the bath tub as a place to contain a baby. Hey, it worked wonders! She was happy and used containers of vitamins as rattles. (Don't worry she couldn't open them!) Happy Baby = Happy (ready for the day) Mommy!
