For Maddie's 6th Birthday we decided to have 2 separate parties. One weekend for friends and neighbors and the next weekend family. It just seems to be a little too much with so many people all in one place...especially if everyone has to fit in our house. So we just had 2 celebrations. It worked out just great!
The theme for both of them was Luau. Everyone dressed in tropical attire. For the friends party we played pin the coconut on the palm tree, sea shell relay race, limbo, and we decorated foam picture frames with various ocean and beach theme stickers. We kept the food simple with Hawaiian pizza and fruit kabobs!
Maddie made a foam mermaid scene to put on her cake. She surprised me with the cake flavor, she choose carrot cake. It was actually a nice change and I think a great choice.
It was pouring rain outside so we had to stay inside for the entire party. It was crowded, but still fun! It felt like we brought the tropics to the inside of our house. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends who are also neighbors! Thanks guys for making Maddie's 6th birthday so fun!
